Company history

History of Beck GmbH

JUNE 2004

Beck GmbH was founded by the managing directors Peter Beck and his son Armin Beck. The idea of founding the company began many years earlier in Peter Beck's sole proprietorship in the field of machine and device construction, as well as assembly and disassembly of production plants.

AUGUST 2004

The production facility was then relocated from Stulln to Wackersdorf, Barbarastraße 6, in order to be able to serve customers in the Wackersdorf Innovation Park even faster on site. Furthermore, Beck GmbH became a training center for industrial mechanics and cutting mechanics.

2005/2006

In the meantime, other well-known automotive supplier companies were also among the customers. Since the restart in Wackersdorf, interesting business partnerships have also developed in the food, special machine construction, and transport and conveyor technology sectors.

2007

Due to the volume of business, the building was expanded in the 2007 financial year. The production area thus gained could be equipped with two additional milling machines. This year, the first ISO 9001 certification was successfully carried out by Dekra.

2008/2009/2010

The international financial crisis in 2008 and 2009 also caused problems for Beck GmbH. Sales, and thus sales and earnings, fell significantly and delayed further growth. During the financial crisis, Beck GmbH became internationally active, supplying production systems to the Czech Republic, Norway, and China. The 2010 financial year then tied in with the previous financial years before the financial crisis. Well-known customers in the automotive industry in Belgium, China, Germany, Norway, Russia, and the Czech Republic are supplied with production systems and prototypes for series production. Furthermore, six young people started their training at Beck GmbH. Due to the developments within the automotive industry, a new business area in metal construction related to the construction sector was established in the 2010 financial year. This business area includes, among other things, the construction of canopies, conservatories, carports, industrial stairs, and industrial platforms.

2011

The next building expansion was already feasible in 2011. The expansion included an assembly hall with an adjoining office track.

2012

The establishment of new business areas such as inductive soldering began in 2012. Due to the increased demand for specialized machine construction, the construction department was gradually expanded.

2016/2017

The machine park expanded to include wire EDM and milling machines due to increased demand. Additionally, the company invested in a three-axis large-bed milling machine.

2019

A new ERP system was introduced in the 2019 financial year to optimize order management. This system made it possible to link to the existing CAD system.

2020

The Covid-19 pandemic has the world, the economy, and people firmly in its grip. Corporate responsibility is becoming more important than ever. Targeted and extensive protective measures for the health of employees have been implemented. Mobile working was selectively made possible.

2021

The Covid-19 pandemic also shaped Beck GmbH's business activities in 2021. Customer contacts and thus sales, especially in the mechanical and plant engineering sector, suffered from the lockdowns triggered by the pandemic. We carried out short-time work to alleviate the economic impact. Furthermore, we maintained comprehensive corona protection and action measures to ensure the health and safety of our employees.

2022

The year 2022 started with a generation change. Mr. Peter Beck withdrew from the management of Beck GmbH, and Mr. Armin Beck took over the sole management. Additionally, Beck GmbH underwent a redesign, design, and implementation of its website. Additionally, the company integrated the green footprint as a fixed corporate goal, reflecting its growing importance.

2023

During 2023, extensive renovation work was carried out on the office space, storage, and production areas. The aim of these measures was to increase the efficiency of the processes through new divisions, improved structures, and optimized processes. The renovation included a partial renovation of the logistics hall. In addition, the most modern fire protection measures, such as RWA systems, were implemented in several halls to guarantee the highest level of safety for our factory. We expanded the photovoltaic system to meet the necessary energy requirements, keeping ecological responsibility in mind. This also marked the start of the gradual conversion of the vehicle fleet to e-mobility with appropriate charging stations. As part of our sustainability efforts, we have modified our machinery and sold some older machines, among other small but significant achievements.

2024

In 2024, older machines were resold in the interests of sustainability, fire protection measures in the factory were tightened and a large work platform was built, which will be expanded in 2025. This will create new space for the data center to optimize the IT infrastructure as well as expanded office and social rooms. In addition, the outdoor storage area was slightly enlarged. Fortunately, in the current economic situation, well-known new customers were acquired, and important projects for our existing customers, renowned automotive suppliers, were successfully completed. Despite these successes, increasing cost pressure and the ongoing recession in the German economy put a strain on business operations.
